Description: The Chair of Empirical Economic Research at the LMU Munich organizes a workshop on UNCOVERING CAUSAL MECHANISMS. Empirical economic research has made huge advances in identifying the causal effects of interventions and policies. However, often the interest is not only in the overall effects of an intervention but in the underlying mechanisms. This workshop was devoted to bringing together researchers from various fields of economics and econometrics to present and discuss applied and methodological work with a strong focus on the identification of causal mechanisms.
